Adelyn’s in-home session was on a dreary, rainy day – the perfect kind of day to swaddle up and love on a newborn. When I first started newborn photography these kinds of rainy day shoots scared me. Not having enough natural light in the house is always a concern, and then adding gray skies into the mix doesn’t help anything. But it seems this type of weather seems to follow me around on sessions days, as I think I’ve shot on more overcast days than not. And you know, they’re really growing on me. The shadowy lighting adds emotion to the moments, and I’m learning to harness and grow confident in those small pockets of light.
Adelyn’s family was so welcoming and warm, I’m so glad to have gotten to know them. During the shoot Adelyn didn’t just loved being put down, but once we found the right balance of swaddle, warmth, and snuggles from momma she gave us all the sweet moments we needed.
